CALI ZOO
Cali Zoo is a zoo located in the Colombian city of Cali (Colombia). The park is within the Municipal Forest, on the banks of Cali, has about 350 animals of 233 species, 1 in amphibians (7%), mammals (21%), reptiles (12%), poultry (30%), fish (21%) and butterflies (9%).
Cali Zoo promotes and implements various educational, recreational and research to help preserve biodiversity in Colombia and create environmental awareness among the society. It has a total area of 25 hectares, although the park itself only has 9 hectares, and the route is about 1.5 miles.
CRISTO REU MONUMENT
Cristo Rey is a statue of 31 meters high hill located in Crystals at 1440 meters in the village Los Andes, west of the city of Cali, Colombia. The hill is so named because of the large amount of quartz that could be collected in the surrounding area.
In commemoration of the fifty years following the end of the War of a Thousand Days, Sunday 25 October 1953 at its summit opened an image of Christ, of iron and concrete, with a mass of 464 tons and a height of 31 meters, of which belong to 5m 2 March pedestal.1
The statue was originally created palmirano artist Gerardo Navia. For lack of money, the artist ended Alideo Tazzioli Fontanini Italian origin. The project was led by the play since 1949 the Jesuit priest José María Arteaga, who collected funds assemblies of most departments to build the statue.
