NATIONAL NATUAL PARK SIERRA NEVADA OF SANTA MARTA
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is located approximately 10 ° 52 'North and 73 ° 43' West (position of their central peaks), divided between the departments of Magdalena, Cesar and La Guajira, in the Colombian Caribbean, in jurisdictions Swamp municipalities, San Juan del Cesar, Foundation, Aracataca, Dibulla, Mingueo, Santa Marta, Riohacha and Valledupar.
The park includes nearly 80% of the Sierra, which is the highest coastal mountain in the world. It has a pyramidal shape, with their faces facing north, southeast and southwest. It is so high that it is visible from the cities of Santa Marta and Valledupar, located about 40 miles from it.
Being a mountain, especially over 5000 meters high, has all climatic zones, from the warm dry place until permanent snow.
Also the climate of the region is determined by the trade winds and elevation relative to sea level. That is why the temperature is from 27 ° in the lower park to 6 ° in the highest peaks of the Sierra.
TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK
Tayrona National Park is located in the Caribbean Region in Colombia. Its area is part of the department of Magdalena.
A 34 km from the city of Santa Marta is one of the most important natural parks of Colombia. It is home to a large number of species distributed in regions with different climatic zones ranging from sea level to heights of 900 m.
Of the 15,000 hectares of the park, 3,000 are offshore.
SIERRA OF THE MACARENA
The Serrania de la Macarena is a meeting point of the flora and fauna of the Amazon, the Orinoco and the Andes. Because of its height has varied bioclimatic, with temperatures ranging between 12 ° and 25 ° C. These facts have led to the preservation of a unique habitat in a small region of great biodiversity and has several endemic species.
Its fauna has anteaters, tigers, cougars, deer, 8 species of monkeys, 500 species of birds, 1,200 species of insects and 100 reptiles. In the case of the flora there are 48 species of orchids, 2,000 of other flowers, foliage and plants different.
THE NEVADOS NATIONAL PARK
The Los Nevados National Park is located in the Cordillera Central in the Andean region of the Andes in Colombia. Its area is part of the departments of Caldas, Risaralda, Quindio and Tolima, being divided between the municipalities of Villamaría, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Pereira, Salento, Villa Hermosa, Anzoategui, Santa Isabel, Murillo and Ibague.
The park includes thermal levels corresponding to those of cold moor superpáramo and perpetual snow, so their main ecosystems are Andean forests, deserts and glacier. It also includes the watersheds of some rivers, such as the river Otún Totarito River, Mills River, River Azufrado, Lagunillas River, river and river Campoalegre Guali, among others.
Before entering the park you can see the black lagoon. In the park are located the snowy Ruiz, Tolima, Santa Isabel, the Swan, Quindío, Moon Valley, and gaps Otún and Green, among other attractions.
